In 2021, Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ hotel portfolio adapted to the newest iteration of LEED Platinum Certification and was the first in the region to receive LEED certification across the 13-hotel property portfolio.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a globally respected green building rating system that appraises design, structure and overall operations of a building. These factors are assessed in correlation with efficiency, improved performance and optimized sustainability practices.

Our hotels are designed and managed to positively contribute to the protection of the environment and the wellbeing of the surrounding communities. This includes implementing measures like indoor air quality, green cleaning policies, reduction of pollution and waste, elimination of single-use plastics and development of green practices.

Following the overall sustainability vision of the company to be net positive by 2040, the LEED Platinum Certification is a testament to our best-in-class building principles. This certification represents a major show of confidence in our sustainability efforts and the visions we are determined to accomplish in the future by setting a new benchmark for Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) in the region and the world.
